Nonprofit Administration Certificate Graduate, Medical, Professional |
Certificate | 15 Hours | Wright State University offers three nonprofit certificates: one for undergraduate students, one for graduate students, and one for working professionals with at least three years’ experience in the field. WSU is the only university in Ohio to offer these certificates which enable students to become Certified Nonprofit Professionals through the sponsorship of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance (NLA). NLA is a national organization that collaborates with affiliated college/university programs and nonprofit agencies in recruiting, preparing, and placing students in meaningful careers. Participation in the NLA-sponsored program builds on and enhances a student’s chosen major course of study and provides the tools required to achieve success in the field of nonprofit management. The nonprofit certificate program also enables students to learn and apply leadership skills in these settings by combining coursework with hands-on experiences such as internships, volunteer opportunities, NLA Student Association leadership activities, and professional development workshops.
Nonprofit Administration Minor Undergraduate |
18 Hours | The Nonprofit Administration minor empowers future professionals to positively impact the communities in which they work. Interdisciplinary classroom experiences and experiential learning opportunities provide students with the knowledge and skills for successful professional careers with nonprofit, social sector organizations. The nonprofit sector has more than 1.6 million organizations in the U.S that benefit from multiple disciplines from education and environmental science, to public health, communication and the arts, which makes the minor an ideal choice for students enrolled in a range of degrees and majors at Wright State. In addition to the minor, students have the option to pursue the national Certified Nonprofit Professional credential awarded through the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance.
