If you're currently in a position of responsibility either in the education or public service sector and would like to take on more of a leadership role, then this course could be for you. You'll focus on developing your own effectiveness as a manager by considering wider theories, research and strategies whilst also developing your skills as a leader. A further key component is the ability to exchange and share learning with others - our course attracts students working in a wide range of disciplines and organisations. The course could help you to progress into middle and senior management roles. You'll be taught by an outstanding team of teachers; in fact we've been ranked in the top five in the Guardian Guide for Education for the sixth year running. You'll also have access to our extensive professional and academic network which feeds directly into course design and delivery and to excellent facilities and specialist equipment. Titles of work undertaken by students on this course have included: • An exploration of important skills and traits for leaders within a secondary school • An investigation into the place of leadership and management to influence and maximise employee satisfaction (in a third sector organisation) in a time of austerity and uncertainty.
