Communication is a vital skill in the management of nonprofit organizations. Students are introduced to the specialized writing required in the nonprofit sector, including grant writing, annual reports and stewardship reports. Students learn to prepare clear and effective oral and written reports and proposals and to communicate information in a manner appropriate to the content and the audience. Through a combination of exercises and independent learning, students practise preparing reports and proposals, delivering presentations, reading, listening and using technology to communicate professionally. |

Through practical exercises, problems and case studies, students prepare various financial reports, use appropriate techniques to develop budgets, funding and fundraising plans, identify and analyze sources of financing and apply internal control principles. |
