Welcome

Dean of the College of Education and Human Services
Welcome to the College of Education and Human Services, the home of Seton Hall’s education unit.
Our primary mission is to prepare teachers, instructional designers, library media specialists, school leaders, school counselors and psychologists, to serve children, schools, and communities. We work collaboratively with the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Health and Medical Sciences in the preparation of teachers and speech-language pathologists. We accomplish our mission through values-oriented, high quality programs that meet or exceed professional accreditation, certification or licensing standards. Our College is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, and many of our programs are nationally recognized or accredited through their respective professional associations.
We offer programs at the bachelors, masters and doctoral levels that are designed for both entry level or advanced career development. Our College is noted for its nontraditional scheduling, its hands-on internships, and its community involvement. Our professors are experts in their fields, and are skilled in transforming theory to practice. Our vision for our candidates is that they will become competent, socially-conscious, reflective professionals who will excel in their chosen careers through the skills and knowledge they acquire, through their sensitivity to diversity, and through their dedication to life-long learning and professional growth.
We are very proud of the accomplishments of our graduates and how they work tirelessly for the betterment of society and for the advancement of their respective professions. Our alumni become outstanding teachers, creative instructional design and media specialists, innovative school principals and superintendents, and highly successful psychologists and counselors.
Sincerely,
Joseph Depierro, Ed.D.
