Programs
Provost's Travel Reimbursement Awards
After deans’ travel allowances have been exhausted,
limited funds may be available
on a case by case basis for travel to conferences to
which faculty have been invited
to present original research. Requests should be
submitted at least 30 days before
the conference. Deans are requested to limit the use
of their travel funds to travel
for similar travel, i.e., for travel to conferences
at which faculty members are presenting
original research. At the deans’ discretion, of
course, rare exceptions may be made for
other types of significant participation, but not
through this program. Questions
concerning these funds should be directed to
Associate Provost Greg Burton (x6070).
Provost's Faculty Scholarship Awards (Book
Publications)
These awards are for authored books
published by peer-reviewed presses. Presses are
categorized as First Tier, Second Tier, and Third
Tier, and carry awards of $7,500, $5,000,
and $2,500 respectively. Presses categorized as
First and Second Tier will be listed on the
last page of the award application. All other member
presses of the Association of American
University Presses as well as a select group of
non-member presses (see
list) are counted as
Third Tier. For a list of AAUP member presses
please consult the association’s website
at
www.aaupnet.org. Translated and/or edited
volumes are not eligible for these awards.
For those categories, see below. Awards for faculty
members who co-author a volume eligible
for one of these awards will be pro-rated based upon
the number of authors. Please note: These
awards will be disbursed after the OGRS has received
a copy of the book.
