A Comprehensive, Multilevel Program

Classes are offered in speaking/listening, reading, vocabulary development, writing/grammar skills, accent improvement and American culture, toward academic proficiency and social communication. Special emphasis is placed on university preparation: written expression, TOEFL preparation, vocabulary expansion, comprehension, and speaking skills. Class levels range from beginner to advanced. Participants are undergraduate, graduate, and professional level. Small classes (8 to 15 people) enable students to advance rapidly.

Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, welcomes students to study on a quiet, spacious campus thirty minutes from Manhattan, and just five hours from Baltimore, Maryland; Washington, D.C.; and Boston, Massachusetts. Easy access to train and bus lines.

Learning Goes Beyond the Classroom

In addition to formal classroom activities, students take trips to New York city and nearby sites of interest, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, United Nations, Museum of Natural History, Statue of Liberty, Broadway shows, Wall Street, and the New Jersey shore. Regular trips to Washington D.C., New England, and beyond. Hundreds of activities on and off campus are available through an array of college organizations.

with graduate degrees, and many years of teaching ESL and related fields at the university and adult level, ensure the academic objectives, preparation of challenging course content, effective teaching methodologies, and stimulating interaction.


A Wide Range of Student Services

The Office of International Programs (O.I.P.) provides personal consultation and assistance to all international students and scholars affiliated with Seton Hall University. I-20 certificates are provided to assist in obtaining the F-1 student visa. Computer Services: all ESL students are given an email account and have access to several computer labs. On-campus housing is available for ESL undergraduate students. Off-campus residences are available for ESL and graduate students, at less expense. Access to recreation and sports facilities, campus activities, excursions, and community events. ESLP students are invited to join the International Students Association and many other clubs and organizations.
