Pirate Television students produce a show for their on-campus cable channel.

 

 

The Department of Communication encourages students to gain as much practical experience as possible, and to participate in the student organizations that will help develop their talents and build their resumes and portfolios. Communication organizations include:

  • Pirate Television, a student-run video crew with their own campus cable channel

  • PRSSA, student chapter of the national Public Relations Society of America.

  • The Theatre-in-the-round,  produces seven plays per year, including the summer

  • Theatre Council, student-run theatre programs.

  • Images, a student-run festival of the communication arts

  • Lamda Pi Eta, communications honors society

  • Brownson Forensics, championship public speakers

  • WSOU, 89.5 FM, one of the best college radio station in the country

  • The Setonian, award-winning weekly student newspaper.

  • The Galleon, yearbook.

  • Hook Advertising, local chapter of American Advertising Federation

  • U-Design, student design group with professional clients
