SPRING THEATRE SEASON
APRIL 23, 24, 25, 26 God's Favorite By Neil Simon
At the South Orange Performing Arts Center
Based on the Book of Job, the scene takes place at the Benjamin mansion on the North Shore of Long Island, where resides a tycoon (played by sophomore Bryan Lucas), his wife, (freshman Marissa Breton), a drunken, prodigal son (senior Henry LaGue), a pair of kookie twins (junior Robert Huryk and senior Laura Rondinella) and two servants (junior Amoi Holmes and senior T'Shome Dawes). Then one night a messenger from God (junior Peter McGovern) enters to tell Joe that he is God's favorite and all he needs to do is renounce God. Joe refuses and thus begins a series of tragic but hysterical events. Amid these seemingly impossible circumstances, Simon poses some large questions about life, but never loses his wonderful sense of humor. This is one of Neil Simon's funniest!
