The G.K. Chesterton
Institute for Faith & Culture based at
Seton Hall
University in South Orange, New Jersey
will hold its first major conference in
Latin America in Buenos Aires, Argentina
from September 21 – 24, 2005. The
conference is also co-sponsored by the
Argentine Chesterton Society, by His
Excellency Cardinal Jorge Mario
Bergoglio and by the Santa Maria
Catholic University in Buenos Aires.
This conference seeks to address a
long-felt need in the Spanish-speaking
world.
The conference theme
is “Chesterton and the Evangelization
of Culture”. Speakers from the United
States and Britain include Father Ian
Boyd, CSB, President of the Institute
and Editor of The Chesterton Review; Dr.
Dermot Quinn, Member of the Board of
Directors of the Institute and the
Editorial Board of The Chesterton Review
and Dr. Sheridan Gilley, a member of the
Editorial Board of The Chesterton Review
and the author of a widely acclaimed
Newman biography. Among the many
South-American speakers is Mr. Bernardo
Ezequiel Korenblit, a well-known
Argentinian writer and journalist.
For the last thirty
years, The G.K. Chesterton Institute for
Faith & Culture has convened conferences
world-wide on topics of faith and
culture.
